The Chisel Plane #1, also known as a Trimming Plane, is a specialist woodworking hand plane designed to reach areas that conventional planes cannot easily access.
It is particularly useful for cleaning into the corners of stopped rebates, where the rebate does not extend across the full width or length of the workpiece. It is also ideal for trimming proud wooden dowels, plugs, and dovetail joints, making it an excellent tool for precise joinery and fine woodworking.
With its compact design and precision-ground sole, the Chisel Plane #1 allows accurate trimming right into tight corners and confined areas. It provides access where standard planes cannot, making it a valuable addition to any cabinet maker’s or woodworker’s tool collection.
