The Lathe Tailstock Tap & Die Holder Set is a 7-piece sliding floating type threading set designed for use with a lathe tailstock. Featuring an MT2 (Morse Taper No. 2) shank, the set allows both taps and round button dies to be used for controlled internal and external thread cutting.

The floating/sliding design allows the tap or die holder to follow the workpiece while threading. When the operator releases their grip, the tap or die can rotate with the spindle, helping accommodate the threading operation.

For larger threads that cannot be conveniently held by hand, the threaded stop handle can be positioned against the lathe carriage to prevent the holder from rotating while the thread is being cut.

• Sliding floating type design.
• The Tailstock Tap & Die Holder Kit will cut threads with either a tap or a die using hand held holder that slides on a tailstock mounted Morse Taper arbor. Releasing ones grip allows the tap or die to rotate on the arbor with the spindle.
• For larger threads that cannot be hand-held, a stop handle that bears against the lathe carriage prevents rotation as the threads are cut.
• Suitable for both tap and die threading operations.
• Holds round button dies with the following outside diameters:
  • 13/16”
  • 1”
  • 1-1/2”
• Tap chuck holding capacity:
  • 0–1/4”
  • 1/4–1/2”
• Knurled sleeve holder for improved grip.
